Vajrācārya Story Telling
A Newar tradition is a continuation of the samgha’s ancient role in providing the “gift of Dharma” to the devout local community: Newar vajrācārya ritualists and other Buddhist scholars, usually at the invitation of householder patrons, periodically offer a series of preaching sessions. Often these are based on narratives from the jātaka or avadānanarrative archive extant in the Kathmandu Valley.
